- Abstract
The article discusses the evolution of sound in cinema from 1927 to the digital technique in 1995. History of sound in cinema started with the first dialogue films, which marked the transformation of filmic language. The emergence of sound in cinema started with "The Jazz Singer," "The Blue Angel" and "Lights of New York." In the film entitled "The Jazz Singer" in 1927, the sound was free from rumble and hiss. It is different in 1995 in which sound is reproduced with noisy low and high frequencies with tonal balance of recording. In this paper, three periods that mark the fundamental stages in the history of film presentation have been summarized.
