- Abstract
The Case and Contact Study is a quasi-experimental study, used by Applied Epidemiology when health events occur, associated in time, place and person, aiming to cut transmission networks in order to control the appearance of cases and ideally avoid them. The Case and Contacts Study is a field intervention that emphasizes non-pharmacological interventions and that allows the approach to the population at risk in populations with difficult-to-identify limits or large populations, which allows the rapid identification of the population at risk, as well as the control of the event. A diagrammatic description of the study methodology is made, as well as its statistical analysis, where frequency measures such as conversion into contacts are reported. The association measure in this case is the Expansion Ratio, using Mantel and Haenszel's Chi in this case as a measure of statistical significance.
