- Abstract
In the article "The Care Crises. What Caused It and How Can We End It?" by Emma Dowling, the social care and reproductive crisis caused by increasing care needs, reduced care financing, and lack of time is examined. The author describes the effects of the societal subordination of reproductive and care work to productive employment and highlights the consequences of state privatizations and flexibilizations. Dowling argues that the costs of care and support continue to be shifted onto unpaid or poorly paid groups in society. She suggests securing better working conditions and pay for care workers and establishing standards for care service companies to overcome the crisis.
