- Abstract
Soy production plays a decisive role in brazilian agricultural development, being recognized as the most important commodity for the country's agribusiness and characterized by a demanding production process, in addition to traditional economic issues. This article aims to analyze the social and environmental perspectives of soy production, according to the perception of the producer. This is a quantitative study and a questionnaire was applied to soy producers in the State of Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil. The descriptive and multivariate statistical analysis shows that, in general, there is a positive perception by producers regarding their social and environmental practices in this productive activity, however, it is understood that these indexes can be improved especially from awareness and greater adherence to legislation.
