- Abstract
This experiment was conducted on the 15-year Myrica rubra to investigate the effects of different boron and zinc fertilizer application ratio on fruit quality of Chinese bayberry by adopting an orthogonal design. In addition, a comprehensive evaluation on the quality of the treated red bayberries was made by determining the soluble solids (Soluble Solid Content, SSC), titratable acidity (Titratable Acidity, TA), soluble sugar (Soluable Saccharide, SS), vitamin C (Vitamin C, Vc) and other physiological indexes. Compared with the control group, groups with application of Zn had an unnoticeable increase in the fruit weight, soluble solids, soluble sugar and Vc content, indicating that the single application of Zn could not improve the fruit quality of red bayberry effectively. Groups with application of B had a certain rise in the fruit weight, soluble solids, soluble sugar, Vc content and a decrease in the fruit titratable acid content, besides, the fruit weight and soluble solids were obviously higher than those of the control group. Groups with the combination application of B, Zn had a significant improvement in fruit quality compared with the control group and were evidently superior to other treatments.
