- Abstract
Ammonia volatilization was one of the important channels of nitrogen loss from paddy and was paid more and more attention to. The closed chamber method was adopted in this experiment,and ammonia volatilization loss and its influencing factors of paddy soil in Sichuan basin were studied. The results showed that: Ammonia volatilization loss was 22 - 63 kg • hm-2,accounting for 14 % - 19 % of N applied, and one of the important channels of nitrogen loss from paddy. Ammonia volatilization amount increased with the increase of N applied amount,and both of them had a extremely significant correlation. Ammonia volatilization loss was affected remarkably by the temperature and pH of the paddy surface water and could be controlled by reducing N application and temperature of the paddy surface water. In one day, the main period of ammonia volatilization loss occurred during 10:00 am to 18:00 pm, which accounted for 67 % of the total amount of a whole day. The average ammonia fluxes in the period from 8:00 am to 10:00 am and from 18:00 pm to 20:00 pm were equal to the day ammonia fluxes, which were the best time in a day to test ammonia fluxes.
