- Abstract
The author comments on proposed changes to the Drug Rules of Drugs and Cosmetics (DandC) Act (1940), drafted by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) of India. The proponents argue for the urgent revision of the Act in line with advancement in transfusion science and new practices coming into the routine blood bank management. According to the author, the changes are necessary to help establish model regulations for safe blood supply across India.
