The article reports on a case of indirect transmission of bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) virus by contaminated medicine. BVD virus has been detected in dehorned calves. Control testing of the animals showed that the medicines used in the dehorning procedure caused the infection in five out of the seven dehorned calves.
