The article accounts the first known case of Brucella species infection in a striped dolphin in Cantabria, Spain. The author stressed that brucellosis attacks human beings and a broad range of animal species, including marine mammals. Clinical and laboratory examinations of stranded dolphin revealed that bronchiolar microcalcifications and small aggregates of leucocytes were apparent in the peribronchiolar connective tissue.
