- Abstract
The author reflects on the ethnic variations in breast cancer outcomes in the U.S. and Great Britain. Topics discussed were less incidence of cancer in black women than whites, ethnic disparities despite of advances in the treatment of breast cancer and increased incidence of the mutated proto-oncogene HRAS1 allele in African-Americans. It presents the calculation of risks based on Cox-regression in the nine domains including age at menarche, breastfeeding history and alcohol consumption.
