- Abstract
The article discusses the study which explores the prognostic value of baseline circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in patients with newly diagnosed metastatic breast cancer (MBC). It confirms that CTCs are strong independent predictor of survival in women with newly recurrent MBC. It presents evidence which reaffirms the prognostic power of CTCs and provides evidence of the applicability of the new prognostic marker in the clinical setting.
