Program: Culture Connection Project.
- Abstract
The article provides information about the Culture Connection Project, a collaboration of the University of Windsor with various Windsor schools and the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit in Windsor, Ontario. The project, using drama education, was designed to promote respect, equality, and racial harmony among third- to sixth-grade students as one approach to meet the objectives goal of reducing inequities in health and social injustice. Six schools with high multiracial representations have participated in the project. The greatest challenge for the project team was to integrate multiculturalism and drama skills to address related community issues in a significant way to the school children. Moreover, the project went beyond typical multiculturalism education.
