- Title
Corporate expenditures and pension contributions: evidence from UK company accounts.
- Authors
Bunn, Philip; Trivedi, Kamakshya
- Abstract
This article present information on corporate expenditures and pension contributions evidence derived from Great Britain company accounts. According to the author, it is an important academic and policy concern to understand how companies react to financial pressures. The ways in which companies adjust their balance sheets and the size of responses are inextricably linked to financial stability risks, apart from being relevant to any comprehensive appreciation of corporate behaviour. Pension contributions could force a company to cut dividends and not make investments it might otherwise have pursued, if a firm is financially constrained.
