- Authors
CAREY, LAWRENCE
- Abstract
The article focuses on the fact that physician assistant (PA) needs to have a fundamental understanding of basic pharmacogenetic concepts. It is stated that with the advent of newer drugs as well as a better understanding of existing drugs, pharmacogenetics takes on greater importance as clinicians realize the impact it can have on patient care. Moreover, proper information would help PAs in suspecting pharmacogenetic-based problem, which would allow DNA testing.
