- Title
Bioresorbable textiles for medical applications.
- Abstract
The article presents information on bioresorbable textile for medical applications. Bioresorbable polymers can be produced from renewable resources and have the property to decompose in physiological environment. They are used for medical implants and suture materials, in tissue engineering, tissue regeneration and specially in tissue replacement where textiles are used as supporting substrates for cells. These textiles cannot only be adapted to the mechanical and physiological request but also the combination of different polymer materials.
