- Abstract
Valence Tautomeric Polymorphs Physical properties of functional materials are significantly influenced by intermolecular interactions. Polymorphic compounds are ideal for studying the “pure” impact of intermolecular factors on physical properties. In their Communication on page 17130 ff., O. Sato et al. show two polymorphs in a dinuclear cobalt valence tautomeric (VT) complex. The “pure” contribution of intermolecular factors on VT behaviors isdiscussed. Strong intermolecular interactions among VT cations favor the cooperative effect and lead to desirable magnetic properties.
