- Abstract
The article discusses the emergence of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae, which produces OXA-48-like carbapenemases, in the U.S. for the years 2010 to 2015. These are bacteria that are resistant to most antibiotics and can cause infections that also lead to a high mortality rate. It also mentions the number of reported patients with the disease and the characteristics of the patients.
