- Abstract
Energy dependence is one of the most important contemporary issues because of the progress of production, international trade after the industrial revolution and the increase in technology and knowledge today. The high energy dependence because of energy imports affects developing countries such as Turkey and less developed countries, economically. Therefore, it is important to examine Turkey's energy dependence and make policy recommendations based on the results obtained. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to make policy recommendations according to the results obtained by examining the effects of energy dependence on the Turkish economy, theoretically and explaining it in the framework of econometric analysis. According to the results of the analysis, it was not found that there was a significant relationship between energy imports and current account deficit and per capita GDP. It was found that there was a significant relationship between relative the prices and the current account deficit and per capita GDP
