- Abstract
Barite/titanium dioxide composite pigment powder was prepared by hydrolysis with barite powder (chemical composition BaSO4) as matrix and titanium oxysulfate as titanium source. The results showed that with the increase of calcination temperature of the prepared precursor, the titanium dioxide in the outer layer of the coating was transformed from anatase to rutile, and SO42- in barium sulfate inhibited the transformation of anatase titanium dioxide to rutile titanium dioxide; The composite powder forms a coreshell structure. The barite / titanium dioxide composite powder sample with theoretical titanium dioxide content accounting for 50% of the mass of the composite powder has a blue whiteness of 94.70%, a hiding power of 18.65 g/m², and an oil absorption value of 39.59 g/100 g, which has good pigment properties.
