- Abstract
This study aims to explain the collective effectiveness of teachers for the management of peer aggression through a structural equation model that verifies relationships with principal social support and teacher direct confrontation for the management of peer aggression. In this regard, a total of 268 teachers from public elementary schools in northwestern Mexico participated, who responded to the scales of collective efficacy, teacher confrontation, and principal social support, all focused on peer aggression. Thus, a path analysis was conducted to explain collective teachers’ efficacy, showing in the results acceptable model fit indices, with both principal social support and teacher confrontation explaining collective effectiveness of teachers. In addition, principal social support had an indirect effect on collective teacher efficacy through teacher confrontation. Ultimately, it is concluded that the directive staff and teachers cooperate when actions are directed to improve school coexistence.
