- Authors
Wasserman, Herman
- Abstract
The globalization of communications studies has been a long-standing concern in the field, but attempts to engage perspectives from the South have been critiqued for their inability to engage with questions of structure and power. This article argues that the debates in the sub-field of communication ethics can serve as an entry point for a multi-levelled approach to the globalization of the field. A three-level approach to globalize the field of communications studies, comprising of attention to power relations, meaning-making and geopolitics is proposed.
