- Abstract
An alternative method for determining the temporal variation of the electron density in the laser erosion plasma of antimony is described, which differs from the conventional techniques by posing lower requirements to the characteristics of measuring equipment and not employing spectroscopic constants, which are not always available even for singly charged ions. The results obtained using the proposed method are compared to data derived from the ratio of the atomic and ionic spectral lines according to the Saha equation. The two approaches to plasma diagnostics are analyzed and their results are compared.
