- Abstract
The article presents a solution to the internally braced removable partial denture clasp. As reported, the retentive arm of a removable partial denture (RPD) clasp often becomes problematic when it is placed on the visible buccal aspect of an abutment tooth. This reportedly becomes challenging to the RPD clasp designer. The most common solution in this case is the use of various types of precision attachments (PAs). PAs are generally made up of a rest and a rest seat that are both constructed of the same material. They allow movement only along the path of insertion and removal. Frictional retention is a function of the parallel side walls, which also provide bracing by the transmission of horizontal forces.
