- Abstract
The article presents a study regarding the supernumerary teeth in the anterior section of the maxilla with special attention to dentoid structures. The root shapes of the supernumerary teeth were also recorded in addition to several crown forms. In the series of supernumerary tooth studied, 91.9% caused complaints or changes. The odontoid patients that were examined had accompanying anomalies. 95% of the odontoid processes were removed surgically at the beginning or during the course of orthodontic therapy. 65% of the odontoid patients were given orthodontic treatment and 9.3% required extraction therapy involving permanent teeth. There was a requirement of orthodontic devices for guiding the retained or displaced teeth into the dental arch in the remaining patients.
