- Abstract
The article presents a study that is aimed to assess the effect of the teacher's level of self-actualization on his students' perception of expressed concern. A hypothesis has been formulated, which suggests that students of self-actualizing teachers would perceive their teachers as creating a more growth-promoting atmosphere than non-self-actualizing teachers. The results support the hypothesis as well as provide an assumption that self-actualizing persons have chosen to teach out of their own free will and that teaching affords them opportunities for self-enhancement. By enhancing the attractions and minimizing the dangers, self-actualizing teachers may create growth and learning in classroom climates for their students.
