- Title
Understanding Glare in Exterior Lighting, Display, and Related Applications.
- Authors
Miller, Naomi J
- Abstract
Most of the discussion is directed towards exterior lighting, such as headlights and street lighting, but he hints that these same variables may also explain glare experienced indoors. Discomfort glare is the most perplexing because there are so many variables that affect the response, such as visual size of the glare source and its maximum luminance if it exhibits a non-uniform luminance distribution. The document covers disability glare, discomfort glare, glare recovery and reflected glare, clearly explaining the differences among them on the basis of their physiological differences.
