- Authors

- Abstract
The article discusses Bahá'í faith and its anticipated role in civil governance as depicted in the Bahá'í literature. The faith was founded by Mírzá Husayn 'Alí, who was popularly known as Bahá'u'lláh. The faith entered a period of transition with the appointment of Shoghi Effendi as the guardian of the Bahá'í faith. With his appointment began the transition phase of an individual to institutional authority. Bahá'u'lláh did envision some public role for the institutions that would assume the leadership of his religious community and there are ample indicators within Bahá'í literature which does anticipate a role for Bahá'í institutions in civil governance.
