- Title
Djibouti Should Not Face the Burden of its Humanitarian Crisis Alone.
- Authors
Sheehan, Ivan Sascha
- Abstract
Djibouti, a small country in the Horn of Africa, is facing a humanitarian crisis due to government anarchy, regional conflicts, unemployment, and poverty. Thousands of refugees from neighboring countries are crossing Djibouti's borders every day, seeking safety and a better life. The government of Djibouti is implementing a three-part strategy to address the crisis, including internal efforts to care for migrants, bringing stability to neighboring nations, and seeking international assistance. However, the current support from the European Union and the United Nations is insufficient, and Djibouti needs more assistance to shoulder the burden of the migrant crisis.
