- Title
Looking Hard at Executive Pay.
- Authors
Marshall, Jeffrey
- Abstract
The article reports on the movement to control executive compensation. Disclosure rules regarding executive compensation, which have been proposed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are described. The propositions will force public companies to look intently at revising their proxy statements. Companies will be forced to uncover details about executive compensation in a clear and standardized format. SEC Chairman Christopher Cox maintains that the rules are aimed at disclosure, but those resisting suggest it is an effort to reduce executive pay.
