- Title
Sabre's Guidance Idea: Less Is More.
- Abstract
This article reports on the decision of Sabre Holdings Worldwide not to provide detailed quarterly guidance on earnings per share forecasts. Jeffery M. Jackson, Sabre's chief financial officer, notes that business travel has been down dramatically since September 11, 2001 and that the war in Iraq has also made it difficult for the company to accurately provide short-term guidance. The author suggests that this may actually become a trend and points to several other large corporations that are considering cutting back on the amount of investor guidance they provide.
