- Abstract
The article focuses on a randomized crossover study which evaluated if acute cell phone exposure affects brain glucose metabolism, a marker of brain activity, among healthy individuals. The main outcome measures of the study are cited, which are brain glucose metabolism computed as absolute metabolism and as normalized metabolism. The researchers observed no difference in whole-brain glucose metabolism between on and off conditions. Results indicated the association of 50-minute cellphone exposure with increased brain glucose metabolism in the region closest to the antenna.
