- Authors
Stuart, Gregory L.; Temple, Jeff R.; Moore, Todd M.
- Abstract
This article presents the opinion of the author on how to improve batterer intervention programs. Intimate partner violence (IPV) is on the rise. At least 1.3 million people are abused by a partner in the United States each year and although women abusers are becoming more frequent, this article focuses on abusive men. With changes in the law, many more men must take intervention programs but the efficacy of these programs is rarely studied. The author says current programs don't work for a variety reasons and says changes must be made in the programs for them to work.
