- Abstract
The article presents a clinical review of spontaneous intracranial hypotension and spontaneous spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks. Intracranial hypotension causes orthostatic headaches and is commonly misdiagnosed. The article discusses cranial magnetic resonance imaging, myelography, treatments for intracranial hypotension including epidural blood patching, bed rest, and surgical CSF leak repair, and common magnetic resonance imaging findings, such as enhancement of the pachymeninges, subdural fluid collections, and pituitary hyperemia.
