- Abstract
The article discusses the implications for agriculture of the policy options controlling GHG gas emissions. The author presents data on legislative proposals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions including cap-and-trade systems, carbon taxes and energy bills that promote energy efficiency or renewable energy sources. Incentive-based systems are believed to stimulate industry to reduce emissions and innovate reduction technology. Discussion on agricultural emissions in a carbon pricing system is also presented.
