- Title
A Shift in Emphasis: Comments on CAE's New Mission Statement.
- Authors
Anderson-Levitt, Kathryn M.
- Abstract
The article comments on the mission statement for Council on Anthropology and Education (CAE) which was delivered during the presidential address for the CAE meeting in November 2006 in the U.S. The author emphasizes that a report by a special task force in 2002 unveils the disturbing patterns of the mission statement. She likewise believes that it is ironical for an organization like CAE whose members could determine hidden patterns of race, class, and gender in school systems, could not pay attention to similar problems within its own organization.
