- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the systemwide influences on decision making by paramedics with focus on care transitions and potential risk factors encompassing multi-level system influences at macro-level, meso-level and micro-level. Topics discussed include the impact of complexity of transition decisions and system influences on patient safety and the 9 types of transition decisions encountered by paramedics such as staff training and communication and feedback to crews.
