- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a Girolando dairy cow with lymph node enlargement, severe signs of anemia, cachexia and decreased milk production. The cows hemogram was tested, which revealed severe nonregenerative anemia. Necropsy was performed after the cow was euthanized. Evaluation revealed mildly hemodilute specimen with a pale basophilic background. It discusses Bovine trypanosomias and the severe normocytic normochromic anemia and leukopenia reported in cattle herds.
