The article offers information related to several experimental treatments offered by biotech companies to thwart the Ebola Zaire virus epidemic in West Africa, after announcement made by World Health Organization's (WHO) assistant director general, Marie-Paule Kieny on August 2014, allowing the use of unregistered therapies and vaccines. It includes Mapp Biopharmaceuticals, Tekmira Pharmaceuticals and Inovio Pharmaceuticals.
