- Title
Lee Lynd.
- Abstract
An interview with Dartmouth College biology professor Lee Lynd of New Hampshire is presented. When asked about the need for biofuels, he describes liquid fuels as the simplest energy-storage medium for transportation as they provide over 50 percent of U.S. transportation energy in aggressive scenarios. Lynd believes that biotechnology will be important in feedstock production and in the biological conversion of feedstocks to fuels. He also discusses the costs of cellulosic fuels and the different conclusions about the benefits of biofuels.
