- Abstract
The article examines the experience of Australia in relevance to mass tort class actions after the introduction of federal statutory regimes in 1992 in Australia. Accordingly, the scope of claims under the term of mass tort are provided as well as the summary of legislative framework for bringing the claims through class actions. In this regard, the Australian experiences of the class actions with suitability of various types of mass torts to prosecutions and product liability class actions are discussed.
