- Abstract
The article discusses the dignity of material witnesses, special needs searches and seizures, and the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in the 2011 case Ashcroft v. al-Kidd which deals with the arrest of suspected terrorist Abdullah al-Kidd and America's federal material witness statute. The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and former Attorney General John Ashcroft's claim of immunity from liability are mentioned, along with Miranda warnings. Summary judgment motions are also examined.
