- Abstract
CaF2-Cr2O3 fluxes have been designed and submerged arc welded of P92 heat-resistant steel. It has been demonstrated that the transfer of Cr and O from the flux to the weld metal can be concurrently enhanced by addition Cr2O3 up to 20 wt pct, after which Cr remains relatively unchanged while O shows continuing improvement. Possible governing reactions have been postulated. The findings could provide both practical and theoretical references towards heat-resistant steel welding flux design.
