- Abstract
The article presents an exploration into the 18th century folklore surrounding theories and paradigms of biological conception and their application to the aesthetic views of the English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. A historic medical incident regarding the impressionability of pregnant women is highlighted and analyzed in depth. The metaphor of such impressionability is then extended to artistic creation.
