- Abstract
The article presents the letters received and sent by Arthur Onslow, former Speaker of the British House of Commons, from August 28, 1713 to April 26, 1765. Among the recipients include writer Montagu Bacon, philosopher Samuel Clarke, and former Member of Parliament for Kent David Polhill. Topics covered include the victory of Onslow's nephew George in the Guildford election in March 1761, and the appointment of his brother Richard as commander in chief of the forces of Devonshire in July 1759.
