It involves the establishment of a fully functioning neonatal intensive care unit equipped with the state of the art technology in infant care and well trained, staff members and health care providers. The author mentions the various programs they carried out to train and enhance the skills of mothers, nurses and volunteers inside the hospital such as kangaroo care for mothers and the introduction of cup feeding for infants.
