- Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to consider Jesus of Nazareth's historicity according to different Christian era sources. To begin with an analysis of "Jesus Seminary" is made. This organization looks for grounds to identify the words actually spoken by Jesus as found on the synoptic gospels - Mathew, Mark and Lucas. Then, this open question is followed by an analysis of the historic sources, both Jewish and Romans, on the first AD century's Jesus. The hypothesis is, mainly, that Jesus of Nazareth is above all an historical being, and that a larger part of his epoch sources are in no way circumscribed to him. Finally, it is argued that the modern Christianity - mostly during the XIX century - strongly linked to the spiritualization, a feature produced by the medieval allegoric method, does not take into account, willingly or not, its founder's thinking to be linked to a history and to our History.
