- Abstract
This article, published in the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, evaluates the change in macular thickness and ganglion cell layer thickness after inferior oblique weakening procedures. The study included 20 squint patients with inferior oblique overaction, and various surgical procedures were performed. The researchers measured the central macular thickness and ganglion cell layer thickness before and after the surgeries using Zeiss Cirrus HD OCT. The results showed no significant difference in macular thickness or ganglion cell layer thickness after the surgeries. The study suggests that inferior oblique overaction does not have an effect on these measurements, and further research with larger sample sizes and longer follow-up durations is needed.
