- Abstract
The article presents a case study of an 85-year-old male with a several-week history of epigastric pain. Signs of bowel ischemia and small and large bowel distention have been noted through emergency computed tomography (CT). It highlights the need for an early recognition and appropriate treatment of such condition to decrease the morbidity and mortality rates, including in conjunction with enteral tube feeding. Surgical explorations to avoid the fatal bowel infarction are also mentioned.
