- Abstract
The article presents a case study on the diagnosis given to a 51-year-old man with a history of cirrhosis who was taken to the emergency room for suffering low back pain for three weeks. According to the result of a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) conducted, the patient's L3-4 vertebral bodies were positive for diskitis and osteomyelitis and has bacteremia. It states that the patient was treated IV ampicillin for three weeks and changed to trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole for another 10 weeks.
