- Authors
Akiyode, Oluwole Olusegun; Samba, Awa Mangie Achu
- Abstract
The article argues the need for a disaster risk reduction policy in the Mount Cameroon Region in Cameroon as it faces developmental antecedents with its residents and indigenous communities. The Smithsonian Institution Global Volcanism Program Website claimed that the region rises over 4 kilometers above the coast of western Cameroon with its historical activity defined by explosive and effusive eruptions from vents. People in the region regard the mountain as a holy, sacred, and living form of land. Recommendations for the planned policy are cited.
